Welcome to the heart of Georgia's thriving real estate and cultural scene – Cobb County. As a cornerstone of the Greater Atlanta area, Cobb County is not just a place to live, but a vibrant community brimming with growth and opportunities. In this blog post, we'll take a closer look at some of the most exciting developments unfolding in this dynamic region.
1. Acworth's 20-acre Residential Project:
The new luxury apartment community by Atlanta-based Novare Group, in partnership with BCDC and PointOne Holdings, is set to span over 20 acres along Ga. Highway 92, located between Interstates 75 and I-575, near Kennesaw State University and east of downtown Acworth. This development is designed to meet the growing demand for apartments in the I-75 north corridor, which has seen significant job and population growth. The project will feature 330 residences, including 20 carriage homes with private garages, and is expected to offer state-of-the-art amenities and a variety of greenspaces.
The first units are anticipated to be available from October next year. This project represents the 38th joint venture between Novare and BCDC, with Dynamik Design handling the architecture, and Status Construction as the general contractor.
2. Kennesaw's AMPHITHEATER AT DEPOT PARK:
In Kennesaw, the construction of the amphitheater at Depot Park is underway. This venue will feature a 1,550 square foot stage and is expected to accommodate approximately 2,000 people on the turf lawn. Additional facilities will include restrooms, storage, and renovation of the Community House for performers' use.
The amphitheater, with a completion date targeted for Spring 2024, is set to host city events and concerts, enhancing the cultural and community landscape of the area. This development is reminiscent of Woodstock’s Northside Cherokee Amphitheatre and is poised to become a central gathering place in Kennesaw.
3. Cumberland's Cobb Galleria Centre Redevelopment:
Though technically just inside the Perimeter and not in Cobb County, the Cumberland area's Cobb Galleria Centre is undergoing a significant $150 million redevelopment. The plan includes demolishing existing shops to construct a 300- to 350-room hotel, improving accessibility, and enhancing the parking deck linked to a pedestrian bridge connecting to The Battery. This redevelopment, set to begin in early 2024, aims to compete more effectively with neighboring establishments and includes larger ballrooms, additional parking, and a connecting hotel to the convention center.
4. New Restaurants in Cobb County for 2024:
Cobb County is also expecting a variety of new dining options in 2024. Notably, the Battery Atlanta will welcome establishments such as Battle and Brew, a gaming bar and restaurant, and Cultivate Food and Coffee. Downtown Marietta is set to see the opening of Bōm, a Korean restaurant, along with Peach State Pizza and Press Waffle Co. at Avenue East Cobb. Additionally, Round Trip Brewing and The Peach Cobbler Factory are also expected to open their doors at Avenue East Cobb, along with Tin Pin Game Bar arcade and pinball venue next to Tin Lizzy’s Cantina. Cultivate Food and Coffee is also anticipated to open on Main Street downtown Woodstock in 2024, adding to the culinary diversity of the area.
As we've explored, Cobb County is on the cusp of significant transformation and growth, making it an increasingly attractive destination for both residents and visitors. These developments, ranging from luxury residential projects to cultural and culinary expansions, are set to redefine the living experience in this part of Georgia.
