One of the top five affluent zip codes in the Greater Atlanta area is in the city of Roswell. In fact, a lot of successful professionals are relocating from the expensive Atlanta area to this city. In 2019, the estimated population in Roswell was approximately 94,000 people, making it the eighth largest in the state of Georgia. 

Roswell is located in North Fulton County, between Sandy Springs and Alpharetta. Roswell ranked number seven in niche.com’s list of best suburbs of Atlanta in 2022, which is based on school systems, diversity, crime, and dining. #1 The vibe 

Roswell has 640 acres of historical area. It is a truly walkable city, and Canton Street is the main stretch where everything happens. It has a very vintage vibe. 

Dining in historic Roswell is always a fan favorite. You’ve got some local gems like Fellows Café, Crazy Love Market & Coffee House, the Fickle Pickle, Lola’s Burger and Tequila Bar, and Gate City Brewing Company.

From April to October, there’s the Alive and Roswell festival on the third Thursday of the month. You get all kinds of fun local music, food trucks, kids’ games, local small businesses, and cool boutique spots to hang out. 

#2 The parks 

There are over 22 city parks in the greater Roswell area, covering 918 acres. You'll want to go to Old Mill Park, which is also called the Roswell mill. It has a waterfall, the Vickery trails, and the ruins of Roswell Manufacturing Company.

The Chattahoochee Nature Center is a 127-acre lot right next to Chattahoochee. It's a nonprofit organization that aims to connect people to nature. They also have guided educational hikes and hangouts that allow you to learn more about nature.

The seven-mile stretch of the Chattahoochee River Trail has places for playgrounds. It’s an awesome place to walk, with beautiful views and a very centric rowing community. So, if you'd like to row or want to get into rowing, this is a great place to move.

The future job growth in the market is 44% and the US average is 33.5%. Major industries in Roswell include retail, tech, food services, wholesale trade, and healthcare. The city has great job opportunities and diverse places to work, but it's also a very close drive to the center of Atlanta. So, It's a great place to live and work but you can still commute to the city.

The school system in Roswell is beyond great. Some of the big headlining places include Milton High School, DeSana Middle School, International Charter School of Atlanta, and Denmark High School. Having these highly-ranked public schools is a big draw for families who are trying to avoid private school tuition.

#5 Housing and cost of living

The median housing cost is $540,000. It’s a bit on the higher side, but it's lower than Alpharetta and Sandy Springs. Roswell has a very unique housing scene, going from the newer built subdivisions to the downtown walkable areas with really cool historic architecture. 

Although the cost of living is higher than the national average in other areas, Roswell is on the lower side when it comes to health care and groceries.
