Top 5 Reasons Why People are Moving to Woodstock, GA

Find Out Why Woodstock, GA Is One of the Fastest-Growing Cities—From Vibrant Downtown Living to Outdoor Adventure
April 7, 2025

Known state and nationwide for its lush natural features and vibrant downtown scene, Woodstock is quickly becoming the most charming city in the state of Georgia. It has become the city of choice for most families looking to relocate. In fact, Niche.com crowned it the best Cherokee County city to live in.

So, what else makes Woodstock everyone’s dream location?

#1 An active outdoor-centric community

The reason I love this area, and why so many people look to relocate to Woodstock, is the recreational opportunities.

Places like Rope Mill Park are amazing for paddleboarding, canoeing, and kayaking, amongst several other outdoor activities. You can mountain bike, hike, check out old ruins, and walk across the street to the outlet mall. The easy access to all these activities is one of the most beautiful things about Woodstock.

We also have the Greenprints Trail System throughout the downtown area, and you can go from downtown Woodstock to Towne Lake, all through a concrete walking path. So, you have the option to either walk or bike around town.

Woodstock is an awesome place for organized sports as well, with baseball and soccer fields that are accessible to the community.

#2 Family-friendly community events

Woodstock hosts several awesome festivals that are centered around families and the community. We have the summer concert series and Reeves Visual Arts Center. Reeves is perfect for all kinds of cool stuff centered around art, coffee, and wine.

Reeves is right off the Greenprints Trail that backs up across the street from Reformation Brewery. This area boasts some amazing culture that you don’t want to miss.

#3 The historic downtown scene

The developer, Morris and Fellows, is known throughout the southeast for creating urban historic downtown developments centering on retail in these historic districts. They renovate and revitalize them to create a really cool urban space for locals to live, work, and play. This is one of the first places to check out when you first come to Woodstock.

#4 Diverse housing options

Woodstock has a multitude of different types of housing. There’s everything, from condos downtown to townhomes in Mason and South on Main. South on Main has single family homes as well. Then you have big master communities that sell much bigger homes.

If you follow the Greenprint Trail into the Towne Lake community, you’ll find golf course Trinsic master communities. Basically, there's a bit of everything for everyone in Woodstock.

As of June 2023, the median price point for homes in this gorgeous town is $426,000. Woodstock is a bit more expensive than most because of the culture and the location. You can get homes that go all the way up to the multimillion-dollar price point. Some of these homes are new constructions that are beautiful, bold, modern, and all things perfect.

#5 Quality schools

Woodstock boasts some quality schools across the board, rated an A on niche.com. For folks seeking a place to raise their family with education at the forefront for their children, this is a great place to do so.
